Malcolm Wu is a program and community operations professional with over 10 years of experience designing and delivering entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives across emerging communities in Sarawak, Malaysia. He joined iCube Innovation in 2015 — when it was Sarawak's first coworking space and innovation platform — and has since built the programs, the teams, the ecosystem, and the community connections that make the hubs relevant and impactful year after year.
A personal commitment is bringing Malcolm to Banja Luka in early July 2026 — drawn there by someone he cares about, and by genuine curiosity about a region he's grown to like. He doesn't arrive knowing many people there yet, and he's fine with that. He's looking forward to learning the language, understanding the landscape, and finding where his background can be useful. If your organisation works in a way that could include someone based in BiH — remote, hybrid, or otherwise — he'd love to have that conversation.

His work sits within a larger national and state context. iCube operates two Digital Innovation Hubs contracted by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), directly contributing to Sarawak's Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) — the state government's 10-year plan to build a thriving, high-income, innovation-driven economy. The Digital Innovation Hub model that iCube pioneered is a named catalytic initiative inside that plan.
iCube holds MSC Status Incubator recognition from MDEC (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation) since 2015, and was awarded Malaysia Digital Hub status by MDEC (2022–2025). As a formal ecosystem partner of MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre) since 2015, iCube served as the East Malaysia satellite hub for national startup programs. His approach is grounded in a give-first mindset — building through genuine relationships, collaboration, and shared value.
Ten years of building something from scratch leaves you with a clear sense of what matters — and a genuine appreciation for how much there always is still to learn. Banja Luka is the next place to find that out.
Joined iCube's senior leadership. Shifted from execution to strategic planning across both hubs. Co-developed the hub playbook. Built a capable team that now runs programs independently. Developing successors. Remains key relationship holder for government and ecosystem partners.
